I am having trouble using more than one program at a time on my system.
Basic system: DFI motherboard P4 system, on board AC97 sound card, Mandriva 2006
KDE and amarok, xmms all work fine but when I'm trying to use sound with Parallels or Win4Lin Pro I get "/dev/dsp not available" or an error like that a nd Audigy won't access sound at all. I am assuming the problem is with my Mandriva setup because the programs all work fine if I disable sound.
I have checked permissions, group membership and fuser and all seem correct.
What have I failed to check???
