  1. The question seems to be solved. I'm going to test it.
  2. Hallo! I have installed MDV 2008.0. I want to add a file association so I use the Control center and do it (I want to open *.big files with the Big Crocodile using Wine). I want to add the association to the "Applications" group but it isn't possible and the description jumps among the "All" group automatically. But now every time the KDesktop or any application is launched I see an error message: "Cannot find MIME type aplication/octet-stream". After I click on it, everything works fine. Why? How to repair it? Is there any file in MDV where a false input is written about an association among "applications" while the association is anywhere else? Thank you very much :) h [moved from Software by spinynorman]

    VoIP clients

I have a good experience with Ekiga. And you have a lot of phones links here: http://www.voip-info.org/wiki/index.php?page=VOIP+Phones . H.
  4. Solved. It is need to compile and use gspcav1 with MDV 2007 (there is a kernel 2.6.17 there) because the driver isn't among MDV source of SW.

    FUSE NTFS

Hallo! I use FUSE to mount my WXP NTFS disc. Names of some files or directories of the NTFS disc contain diacritic letters like "? ž š ? ? ?". NTFS-FUSE disc is mounted when the system (MDV 2007) starts but if I open it - there are no "diacritic" names of files and directories. All these names appear at once if I unmount the disc and mount it again. A NTFS line of my /etc/fstab : /dev/hda1 /mnt/win_c ntfs-fuse umask=0,users,iocharset=utf8,codepage=852,rw 0 0 Do anybody understand the problem? What to do so that I do not need to remount the NTFS-FUSE to see all files and directories immediatelly? Thank you! H. :P
  7. Well, I have found out the camera could run with spca5xx (http://mxhaard.free.fr/download.html). I installed the driver from MDV source of software however, I cannot register the spca5xx module: # modprobe spca5xx FATAL: Module spca5xx not found. (The module doesn't operate, output of dmesg | grep spca5xx is empty) Can anybody help with this task? Where is an error? TX! And, finally for now: Happy new year to all :P H.
  8. Don't you know how to run this webcamera with MDV please? Harddrake can find a strange USB camera but that's all. TX!
  9. Thank you scarecrow :D However, no change. The webmin is running when I see the daemons menu of mcc. I get the error message -12263 anyway as I run the code you suggest.
  10. Well but I just cannot run webmin at all. If I type https://localhost:10000 I get "error -12263". If I try to run webmin from console: "bash: webmin: command not found". I have updated webmin - those are all changes from last time. Can anybody help please?
  11. Thank you for your reply :D MCC ... ? = Mandriva control center? I'm sorry, there's no possibility to set system security level and the periodic security audit in my control center (MDV 2007 Free). There are settings for firewall only. How to get settings for security level? Thank you!
  12. Hallo, is there any possibility to change a safety level of system which was set during the installation? TX! [moved from Installing Mandriva by spinynorman]
  13. I have found out a solution of the problem: it is need to set BIOS/Peripherial/Parallel Port, from "EPP" (extended) to "SPP" (standard). And everything is OK :)
  14. Hallo! MDV 2007 (a clean installation) can find this printer well by it's name and sets a good driver for it (gutenprint). But if I want to print a work I get only nonsense letters. How to manage it? Have you any idea please? Thanks!
