I had the same problem. You should try and uninstall Kat, the desktop search-engine. It solved my problem. You can easily remove it via MCC.

Start up your MCC. Go to the installing software section. Search for Samba. Install: Samba-client Samba-common Samba-server Close the installing software section and go to the security section. Disable your firewall Close MCC Open Konqueror. Ctrl+L smb://192.X.X.X/ Now you can copy the desired files.

Hi, this my very first post here. So I hope I've posted it in the right forum. I've installed Mandriva 2006 x86_64 on my laptop with a AMD Turion 64 and a ATi X700 graphics-card in it. After installing the latest ATi-driver on my laptop, I'm getting 19395 Frames/3879.913 FPS with glxgears. :D But after installing Mandriva 2006 i586 on the same laptop, with the i586 ATi-drivers, gives me a poor performance with glxgears. This is what I get: 9619 Frames/1912.023 FPS. In both situations: - FSAA is off - Direct rendering: Yes - Kernel-source installed - And I run fglrxconfig and rebooted afterwards. I would appreciate any comments and/or recommendations. :D
