  1. Click on the arrow to the right for a drop-down list. You might try alsa first, like polemicz suggests.
  2. Actually it looks a lot like Adobe ImageReady 6 to me... which is basically Photoshop, but especially tailored for web graphics, animations etc. (I made my avatar with that ;) )
  3. Try choosing other Output Plugins in Xmms... from the XMMS menu, choose 'Options -> Preferences'. Then below there is a box saying 'Output Plugin'. Try a few different ones like 'Arts' , 'Alsa' and 'OSS'... and see if that makes a difference when you play a song.

  5. http://www.ffii.org/~bkaindl/votes/ Now why didn't I find this sooner? A few examples already that might suffer: http://www.mplayerhq.hu/homepage/index.html http://www.freepascal.org/fpc_noswpat.html
  6. Mmmm.... yeah. I think the proper description is M$ may determine HOW you use your computer, through provisions in the EULA. This talks about things like auto-downloading software, arbitrarily changing the EULA without even having to let you know and revocation of media files and programs through use of DRM (e.g. if M$ decides you shouldn't possess or use certain files or software, they can shut it down or delete it). Some links (I think the 1st one is the most interesting for you): http://www.arachnoid.com/boycott/ http://www.cybersource.com.au/cyber/about/...gpl_to_eula.pdf http://www.opensource.org/halloween/ http://www.euronet.nl/users/frankvw/index.html http://www.vcnet.com/bms/features/ http://www.vcnet.com/bms/departments/dirtytricks.shtml
  7. What do your programs do after you close amaroK?
  8. Hi, There already is a lot of information out there if you search for it. I think it would be better you if focus on one particular aspect you feel more comfortable with, and do that in detail. It's great you are considering helping out though! Darkelve
  9. Give it some time, someone'll anwser ;)
  10. 1. Because hardware firms often don't write the drivers to make them work in Linux... which means the Open Source community has to write them themselves, often with reverse-engineering and without any documentation 2. Because people don't check Hardware compatibility before buying a new hardware product, thus prolonging 1. 3. Because there's no real standard that is adhered to, so that all systems can interoperate these are things I can think of right now. ...
  11. Ah yeah... MUSB addiction, how I know this to be true... but I can break free any moment I want! Honest!
  12. Nevermind, I found some time and was able to solve it. Although I could still use that Javascript tutorial!
  13. Ah... living up to your name now, are you?
  14. I already have such a construct. But in this case -and I hate to say it- speed is more important than learning. I'm very busy and I don't have time to mess around too much. Well, perhaps this evening during my leisure time... :( All I need to know is if-rule with the or-construct for these checkbox fields. Script is here: http://www.delijn.be/scripts/form_validation_krant.js
  15. http://www.delijn.be/overheden/contactform_test.html In this contact form I'm making, there are 2 checkboxes. I want to make it so that the person that fills out the form has to check AT LEAST 1 of the 2 checkboxes (e.g. it should return an alertbox with an error message if no boxes are checked.) This is the row containing the code: <tr> <td colspan="2"> <input name="abonnement_op1lijnkrant" type="checkbox" value="Ja" tabindex="20" /> een abonnement op de Op 1 Lijn-krant <br /><br /> <input name="informatie_campagne" type="checkbox" value="Ja" tabindex="20" /> Volgende informatie over de Op 1 Lijn-campagne (aub specifiëren in onderstaand invulveld) </td> </tr> The Javascript I used for the rest of the form can be found in the external file 'form_validation_krant.js' Oh yeah, as you might've gathered, I could also use some Javascript tutorials. If you know any tutorials for beginners, with lots of exercises, let me know! Thanks in advance for the help! Darkelve
  16. I had such a weirdly partitioned key once... I reformatted it myself as Fat (or Fat32?) in Windoze... and after that it worked in Linux too! Maybe my Windoze did a better job at formatting it than it was formatted by default?? Maybe the Mandrake tool (dunno which one this would be though) would work too. It know it sounds strange but it might be worth a try. Worked for me. But first try adamw's suggestion.
  17. aRTee, don't we have something like this on our own site? Edit: ah yeah, here: http://www.mandrakeusers.org/easyurpmi/ I think I saw one a few days ago. Just wondering why you didn't use that page. Is the one you gave more 'official' or something like that?
  18. Steve do you mean the 'where'? Because the 'we' is me. Are YOU still with ME? Can you SEE the mistake that needs to BE corrected so I can AGREE with your post? Translation: I think you mixed up me and Cybrjackle...
  19. I'm interested in when they'll support WinXP(Home) with Service Pack 2. I have a licensed copy, but when I try to install the demo, it says: So I guess tis is not supported yet. And perhaps never may be... ? Any chance you could ask for this information? Also, I think the 256MB Ram I have is a bit low for running this, but I was thinking about upgrading my memory (and maybe 3D-card) anyways. Darkelve
  20. I read yesterday it works with 'regular' Wine too now: http://www.linux-gamers.net/modules/news/a...php?storyid=707
