  1. It is a well-known bug for Mandriva 2007. To workaround it, in the file /etc/lilo.conf in the lines append, add apm=power-off joaopa PS: To do this, you can use mandriva control center too.
  2. I have got the same problem with mandriva 2007. Mandriva 2006 is fine. The funny thing is that my laptop shuts down when CPU is too hot.... So, it is really a very annoying bug in Mandriva 2007. Joaopa
  3. when the sentence appears "could not start kdeinit. Recheck your install", type init 3 su (+passwd) urpmi.addmedia SoS-KDE355 http://seerofsouls.com/mandriva/2007/i586/KDE355/ with hdlist.cz rpm -e --nodeps `rpm -qa | grep -i kde | grep 3.5` rpm -e --nodeps kdevelop urpmi kdebase kdeutils kdeaddons kdeaccessibility kdegames kdegraphics kdeedu kdebase-kdm-config-file kdebase-kdm when all is installed, type service dm restart And now, all must be fine Joaopa
  4. Are you sure to have direct rendering enabled? It would be nice if you could attach your /etc/X11/xorg.conf file and the console with glxinfo. Joaopa
  5. libGLU.so.1 must be installed in your .cedega repertory like this: /home/joaopa/.cedega/.winex_ver/winex-5.2.7/winex/lib/libGLU.so.1 libGLU.so.1 is installed by cedega and doesn't use the glu librairy of Mandriva Check whether all is OK. If not, reinstall cedega. Joaopa
  6. Hello, I upgraded my Nvidia driver from nvidia-8874 to nvidia-9629. Now, when launching supertux, supertux launches X server again .... All was fine with previous driver except that wine did not find Opengl c header... So, I must use the new driver.... Any idea how to solve this problem? Joaopa
  7. Here is the /var/log/syslog after the 120000000000000000-th reboot of my laptop Moreover lm-sensors doesn't work. It complains about that /sys is not mounted, although I have the following line in my /etc/fstab none /sys sysfs defaults 0 0 . I become crazy Joaopa
  8. Hi, If you use Mandriva 2007, instead of Load "Glx" in your xorg.conf, you must write Load "/usr/lib/xorg/modules/extensions/nvidia/libglx.so"" And then, you could use the plf packages: ftp://ftp.univ-orleans.fr/logiciel-libre/...2007.0.i586.rpm ftp://ftp.univ-orleans.fr/logiciel-libre/...2007.0.i586.rpm Joaopa
  9. Thanks for the tip. I had just installed lm_sensors. But I don't know how to use it... Any help would be nice Thanks in advance Joaopa
  10. Since I upgraded my laptop with mandriva 2007, laptop shutdowns often with the message that cpu has 89° degrees Celsius. It is weird because, with Mandriva 2006, I never had this problem. And with my dual-boot, my laptop works fine. So, it is a problem with my mandriva 2007 and/or my configuration. I checked that acpi is checked in service. CPUFREQ is also checked. CPUfreqd is also checked but is stopped... Click on Start dors not change its state.... My problem occurs mainly when I compile wine, since CPU is loaded a lot..... Anyone has an idea to solve my problem? Joaopa
  11. 12. Solved by installing Flashplayer 9 beta. Joaopa
  13. With mandriva 2006, all my flashplayer applications workded fine. I updated to mandriva 2007, and now all my flashplayer applications don't display any font. In the flashplayer installer, it is warmed:" NOTE: Macromedia Flash Player requires two font packages to be installed, ttfonts and urw-fonts" So, I checked that and these 2 packages are installed... So, I am confused... Anyone has got an idea? Joaopa
  14. I have the same problem. Can you say the value that you had given? Thanks a lot Joaopa
  15. Do you know how to be sure that all the localization packages are installed? Joaopa

    ksystray

Hello, The icons KMIX ans KRANDRTRAY disappeared of ksystray. I verified in kmxix configuration that all the boxes were checked. So I wonder what happens. Why kmix is not in my systray when launching KDE? I use kde 3.5.2 from SeerOfSouls site. Anyone has an idea? Joaopa
  21. Great!! It works. Thank you For ianw1974, I don't know how must I report this bug in SeerOfSouls site. But I can say that I followed the instructions of this site with a lot of care to upgrade KDE. Joaopa One can close this subject as "RESOLVED"
  22. Hi, I upgrade myMandriva 2006 with KDEe 3.5.3 from SeerOfSouls site. When I am in KDM screen, keyboard does not work. So it is impossible to enter login and password. So I can't login. The mad story is that everything works fine with XDM. Even, I can do init 3 et startx and I lam in KDE. So, it is a probleme with KDM. Here is my kdmrc. I hope that helps. For indication, I us xorg 6.9.0 update (not the cvs version) Joaopa my kdmrc: # KDM master configuration file # # Definition: the greeter is the login dialog, i.e., the part of KDM # which the user sees. # # You can configure every X-display individually. # Every display has a display name, which consists of a host name # (which is empty for local displays specified in the Xservers file), # a colon and a display number. Additionally, a display belongs to a # display class (which can be ignored in most cases; the control center # does not support this feature at all). # Sections with display-specific settings have the formal syntax # "[X-" host [":" number [ "_" class ]] "-" sub-section "]" # You can use the "*" wildcard for host, number and class. You may omit # trailing components; they are assumed to be "*" then. # The host part may be a domain specification like ".inf.tu-dresden.de". # From which section a setting is actually taken is determined by these # rules: # - an exact match takes precedence over a partial match (for the host part), # which in turn takes precedence over a wildcard # - precedence decreases from left to right for equally exact matches # Example: display name "myhost:0", class "dpy". # [X-myhost:0_dpy] precedes # [X-myhost:0_*] (same as [X-myhost:0]) precedes # [X-myhost:*_dpy] precedes # [X-myhost:*_*] (same as [X-myhost]) precedes # [X-*:0_dpy] precedes # [X-*:0_*] (same as [X-*:0]) precedes # [X-*:*_*] (same as [X-*]) # These sections do NOT match this display: # [X-hishost], [X-myhost:0_dec], [X-*:1], [X-:*] # If a setting is not found in any matching section, the default is used. # # Every comment applies to the following section or key. Note, that all # comments will be lost if you change this file with the kcontrol frontend. # The defaults refer to KDM's built-in values, not anything set in this file. # [General] # This option exists solely for the purpose of a clean automatic upgrade. # Don't even think about changing it!
