Não se preocupe com seu português. ;) After some research with Google, I discovered a post in a Ubuntu forum where they discuss something similar to this. There I found a link to a KDE bug about floppy mounting issues, said to be fixed, even if people still voting on it. In a comment, one developer says that bug is closed so the problem may be with the distro HAL scripts. I remember reading one topic about this in the Mandriva Club forum, but they simple ignore the issue (like, until now, they did with my topic there). This is really frustrating... I hoped that this time Mandriva had learn from 2006 problems, bug again I will have to wait months until they fixed all 2007 problems (most XGL related). Thanks.

Hi again, and sorry for my english, After a fresh Mandriva 2007 Powerpack install, i discovered that there is no floppy icon inside the Devices window (media:/). The floppy is mounted in /mnt/floppy, but for some reason the media kioslave don't recognize it (in media:/fd0), so no icon is displayed. For me this is not a problem, because I can create a shortcut but, for my parents/brothers, is nice they have a icon in a place where they can find without asking me, like it was in Mandriva 2006. So, do you have the same problem? Is there any way to make the kioslave mount and display the floppy? I had read that KDE 3.5.x reads the devices directly, not from fstab, so maybe Mandriva forgot to update some configuration file (or maybe this is a bug in KDE). What do you think? Yeah, it works! And it was pretty good and easy because after download the src.rpm file I install it and urpmi warn me about the dependencies and download them. After that the only thing I did was create the binary rpm package with 'rpm -bb --clean --rmsource k3b.spec'. Now the only thing left is burn some CD/DVD to test it. Thanks, doutor.zero

Thanks for your reply. I'm already use MandrivaClub NL as my main repositorie but they appear to stop building packages for Mandriva 2005 (one exception is Azureus 2.3.0.6). The latest K3b version there is 0.12.4 so there is no other way besides compiling myself. I get the source from K3b site but there is tons of dependencies so I decide to get the src.rpm from cooker and try it. I think doing this can work because using the .spec file will solve the dependencies problem and generate the rpm file. I'm only afraid that the src package in cooker don't work in 2005 (because it was created for version 2006)... Thanks, doutor.zero

Hi, I'm using Mandriva 2005 LE and now that version 2006 is out is difficult to find some updated packages, like K3b 0.12.8. So I'm thinking of getting a src rpm from cooker and compile it in Mandriva 2005 LE. But i'm a newbie so I never did it... The best solution is convert with the amaroK script (there is a new version at KDE-Apps.org) and after the conversion, use a tag editor, like EasyTag, to do a automatic renaming in all the files at once (EasyTag allows you to get the tags from CBBD and rename all the files from the tags). With your previous builds (3.4.0 and 3.4.1) I had two problems and I want to know if they are solved in this new build: First double menu entries at any Konqueror window (two Favorites and Help entries), and double icons in Konqueror toolbar and aplications toolbars, like K3b. Second with MDKKDM, after updating I can't shutdown or reboot from KDE, and if I try KDE goes back to MDKKDM and from there I can shutdown/reboot, understand? This is not a problem exclusive of your builds, because happens with Cooker builds also. I know there are few people that use still use MDKKDM, and i don't have any problem using KDM ou GDM but, in my particular case, my parents are happy with the MDKKDM icon click behaviour, because is simple and work very well for them. Using KDM is not so good because it don't have a user list with themes and using GDM makes KDE have the same MDKKDM problem with reboot/shutdown. So i'm asking you a favor, please can you to take a look at MDKKDM and see if there is a way to make it work with KDE 3.4.x, right? Thanks, doutor.zero

Sorry AussieJohn, I don't want to be rude, but sometimes my english don't allow me to express very well :sad: I know what you are saying and yeah your are right but you are not 100% correct: first because looking at your screenshots (and testing myseilf) you can see that only the icons below 'Actions' are with a bigger size. And second, using double icons is worst than doing that first trick because the icons are now distorted (in my case with the crystalsvg iconset). So let's me try to explain: some distros like Suse for example have the entire KMenu with larger icons (look at the screenshot below) and you can set the size changing the MenuEntryHeight= in kickerrc file... But Mandriva's KDE, for some reason, don't recognize this setting (and don't even permit that you change some icons settings, like panel or small icons size). http://shots.osdir.com/slideshows/slidesho...ase=251&slide=2 So I repeat, there is no way, as far as I know (and I have searched a lot) to change this in Mandriva right? Aioshin don't lose your time trying this because I think that friend Aussie John don't understand what we are discussing... There is no way with Mandriva to make the K Menus icons larger besides doing the tip that yochenhsieh post (editing the .theme file). But even this trick is not perfect, and no the same that adding MenuEntryHeight= in other distros like Suse. Thanks, doutor.zero

Ok, but I don't want the panels icons larger, only the K Menu icons, and this tip was almost there :sad: But this is better than nothing because now the icons are a little bigger and easier to read. Thanks for everyone, doutor.zero

After some testing I found there is one small problem with this tip: the icons below Actions are in the right size (22 ou 32) but the icons above are with a small size (larger than 16 but smaller than 22) and the icons of the of the most used applications remains with the default 16 size.
