  1. I found this on internet # How do I fix the "No PPD file for printer" error? No PPD file for printer This error typically occurs when the server's ServerName (by default the "hostname" value) is not configured properly or is not accessible from the Windows system. If you are not using a DNS server on your network, run the Printer Manager on your ESP Print Pro server machine, click on the server configuration icon (looks like a wrench), and change the Server Name to the IP address of the server. That will allow your Windows system to find the PPD file and add the printer successfully.
  2. I think its something from HP, i also had a canon an S400 and that also worked fine over the network. There is a programm called "ESP print pro for windows clients", http://www.easysw.com/printpro/software.php But if i install that programm and try to find the printer i got a error: "HPPSC1410: No PPD file for printing - skipping." en "Added (0) printers successfully."
  3. Exactly the same problem here, i have a HP PSC1410 all-in-one. All three computers with Mandriva can print and scan over the network, but my wife with here xp-computer can't. She also refuses to work with Mandriva. I've tried for a month without any succes, so i give both up.
  4. Mayby a stuppid question but how do i extract the firmware from the *.sys file, i've never used bcm43, because i still using 2006 with NdisWrapper. I'll wait until 2008 comes out
  5. I forgot i installed the 2.0 version voor 2006 build by MCNL and that installed along 1.5
  6. I've had the 1.5 version which came with 2006, i've installed the 2.0 version of MCNL. Both worked perfectly, i removed 1.5 and there were no problems with 2.0Mayby i'm luckey B)
  7. No it's not nesessay to remove Firefox1, they will coexist nicely.
  8. This looks like the same problem i have with my IBM R31 and Broadcom w-lan, i don't got is work with 2007(1) he doesn't see the card. But it works fine with 2006, iv'e got it working under 2007(1) with the latest kernel 2.6.20 which is in contrib What is the output of lspci.

    Wasn't a experimentel version of KDE4 came with 2008
  13. When i wan't to install korn under spring i see kdepim4-korn-3.80.3 and kdepim-korn-3.5.6 Which one must i install, with 2006 you only got one for example kdepim-korn. Can anybody shine a light in the darknes.
  14. Broadcom 4306, but i think it's the combination kernel and TI-CardBus bridge ( PCI1410), iv'e send in a bug report and it was accepted as a bug. That's why i wait voor 2008 with the 2.6.18 kernel
  15. Wouldn't that cause any problems, Spring with a 2.6.12-12 kernel
  16. Wasn't that for normal updates and not for security updates.
  17. Iv'e noticed it to and it makes me not happy, i can't use 2007(1) because of my w-lan on my IBM R31. So i'll wait for 2008 and the new kernel.
  18. Are there gonna be still security update's for 2006 or have they stopped it. Every week i try to update my system both everytime i got the message "There are no new update's".
  19. Is your webcam regonized in Mandriva, you can look in the MCC (Mandriva Configuration Centre) or typing in a console lsusb
  20. I think that is what is going wrong, in your /home are the hidden programm configutations files. The configuration files from 2007 are somehow different from 2005. I did the same with 2006 and it went wrong. I think the best is to backup youre data and do a clean install with 2007.
  21. I know that GtkPod updates de ipod database, Amarok 1.3.8 didn't. I don't know if 1.4 updates the database.
  22. My daughter uses GtkPod to put her mp3 collection on her ipod nano. And it works just fine. The only thing is the mountpoint, GtkPod says "/mnt/ipod" and Mandriva "/mnt/ipod_van_ir" i've changed it in GtkPod.
  23. My kids have a i-pod nano, with Amarok i screwed the database from my daughters i-pod. After restoring the database she's using GtkPod and that works perfectly. The only thing is the i-pod mounts in /mnt/ipod_ ir and GtkPod say's /mnt/ipod. So i correct that, all she do is plugin the ipod start GtkPod read the database, finds the songs and sync.
  24. You can give for search "kdebase" (without " ") and install everything what startred with kdebase. The 3D-desktop is not necessary but if activeted it cause's that problem, there is still a bug in it.
