  1. Type in a console: mdkapplet --force & Then right click on the icon in the taskbar and choose start at boot. Or something like that. That should do the trick, atleast in 2008
  2. If i'm correct are on a music cd several folders like ogg, mp3, wave, etc just put the contents of the mp3 folder on your harddisk and load it in amarok.
  3. The wacom bambo works perfect with Mandy my son have one. It works out of the box. B)
  4. Isn't the name not live and the password also live.
  5. Is the w-lan enabled in the bios of the netbook, he w-lan button on the right is it enabled. I should work out of the box, at least on my aspireone110.
  6. wirechief, Can you try a bios update or set the bios to boot directly from the usb-stick so you don't need F12. I have a acer110 which is not to different from a 150 and everything works great. If you can boot from other computers and not from the acer150 i think it's a bios problem.
  7. I'm glad I can tell that the MCNL is building a new MCNLive version based on Mandriva 2010 , the new developer is HighKing. It's still called a alpha5 version but I'm typing this from MCNLive installed on a aspireone110 netbook. If everything goes well there will be a public beta version for testing. 8. Maybe disabeling speedboot in /etc/sysconfig/speedboot will help, just a gues.
  9. Go to the startmenu, then tools/systemtools/configure your computer there you'll find a option internet. Try to configure your wireless there. If the only option is ndiswrapper choose that, al you need then are the drivers from windows. Sorry if i'm a bit short now, but i've to go for ballroom dancing practice.
  10. In the MandrivaControlCenter (MCC) you can configure the w-lan. If there are native driver you can use them, otherwise you can use the windows driver (*.inf and *.sys) with ndiswrapper.
  11. Open a console type su - then enter, type the rootpasword (you don't see anything) enter type dolphin (enter). Find the wastebasket in /home/user/desktop and delete the file.
  12. I had the same on my EEE701 if you move the icon's for home and trashcan a little bit from the side of your screen it should be gone. It's a scrolling bar. The other thing i can't find it either in the taskbar.
  13. You can try GTKpod, i know untill the ipod nano third generation (the almost square one) it worked well. I don't know if there is a 64 bits GTKpod.
  14. I think Mandriva 2006 is far to old it's released somewhere in 2006 , put on that comp 2008(1) or 2009.
  15. I'm still running 2008.1 on my eeepc, if the live cd of 2009.1 is working alright i switch. Otherwise i'll wait for 2010.
  16. In MCC you can search for all, installed or not installed, you can do man urpmi to find the switch for the cli.
  17. Is the Modul: ‎touchkitusb loaded at boot. You can check this by doing lsub as a root in the console and look if you see ‎touchkitusb somewhere in the list. If not put a line called ‎touchkitusb in /etc/modprobe.preload (as root) and reboot.
  18. I know i tried the solutions they offered but no one works.
  19. If i trying to acces the device with Dolphin i get the next error: an error occurd while accessing "volume(vfat), the system responded org.freedesktop.Hal Device.PermissionDeniedByPolicy.org.freedesktop.hal.storage.mount-fixedauth_admin_keep_always<-(actio9n,result) This is with Mandriva 2009 and KDE, maybe Adam can do something with it.
  20. Is there anyone who got the cardreaders on a aspire one netbook working from boot. My daughter works with 2009 and KDE, when she boots with a sdhc card in the left slot it is not seen. When she eject the card and put it in again she can mount it, but there are no entry's in /etc/fstab. MCC doesn't see the card either. The strange thing if i boot from 2009 one Gnome everything is working fine, the cardreaders, fn-keys, etc. But not with KDE, i've searched the web many have that problem but no working solution.
  21. If you have your URPMI-sources installed correctly you can simple install K3B. In 2009 K3B is not standard installed  at least in the one version.
  22. Is the madwifi-kernel-latest installed, if not you have a new kernel and a old madwifi-kernel. That will not work. You can find it out in the Mcc.
  23. Wow, i signed yesterday as number 65. This is going fast.
  24. Maybe you can think about Manddriva with the lxde desktop, you have both Mandriva and a lightweight desktop. I know it's in 2009 so it should be there for 2008.1 or others.
