nothing really, it just lets people know you can translate from german to english. there are quite a few others in the German list so you may not get contacted at all, or you may get bombarded. you could always ask that they ask someone else if you don't have the time to help.

AFAIK it's rare that a translator is needed...

Ok I'm just being silly, but if you live in the northern states, the country boy talk can get a little confusing.

how true! I live in Texas but I'm not from here and I'm married to a East Texas country boy. Took some times to figure out what he wasy saying. Gotta love those Texas expressions!

I actually grew up down on the border. So I became accustomed to the Tex-Mex slang. I went to school in SC for 5 years (I know, the accent is pretty bad there too), then moved back to Houston. It was like living in another country when I first got back.

Unfortunately, I let my spanish get rusty while I was away, or I would offer my services in that category.
