I'm wondering if I have to download the dedicated server or its already on my cds.

Anyone knows?

From what I have read, and I do not have the game myself, the server comes on the cds and you do not have to download it separately.

There is a Linux installer on CD 3, but for the dedicated server, you do have to download that separately. From what I've read on the Epic site you do not, however, need the full version of the game to run a dedicated server

Well I have the full version (3cds) and really often play but I'd like my computer to serve to others when I'm away (university). This is why I'd like to host games (I'm on adsl so not that bad). When I double clic the ut2003 icon I see a sectino named 'Host multiplayer game' but if I start it I'm put in the game (like I have to play). But I just want to host.. not play! I guest I could just go away and somewhen someone would kill me and that's it..

For that, just head over to the epic site and grab the dedicated server, that way you can serve when you're not around.

I want an animated Penguin like you have !

after you click on "Host Multiplayer Game" go to the "Server" options tab, there is a checkbox for "Dedicated Server", click that. and when you click start it will exit out of the game and start a terminal window which i would guess to be the dedicated server.

This is exactly what I was looking for :-D
