I just bought Unreal Tournament 2003, after having read thru some of the posts
here, I see that it has a Linux installer on CD3.
I had to copy that installer to my hard drive in order to get it to work.
Now, it opens the installer, lets me set the install path, then asks for the
"play CD" to be mounted, but no matter what I do here, it doesn't see the
"play CD" (which I'm guessing is CD #1).
So I have to abort the install.
Please HELP!!!

You start out with CD number three.

I don't think so. I already copied the install.sh to my hard drive, cuz it won't run off the cd.

If you go to www.linuxworld.com they have a review of UT2003 right now. It outlines the problems, and correct procedure, with installing UT2003. It also has some links to websites that offer help and further directions for the install.

Thanks, I got it installed ,by basically inserting a floppy into the floppy drive. I guess it doesn't matter, any old floppy will do...
The rest of the install went well then, it asked for the wrong CDs,(ie: asked for CD1, but really wanted CD2, etc) but once I figured that out, it was OK.
It finished up the install and runs fine,
thanks for the info.

I was having the same problem with it whining about failing to mount a floppy during the install. My solution to fix it was to turn supermount on for just the floppy drive (done in MDK Control Center) after that, no more complaining from the installer. Just my experience, yours may vary.

Glad you got it running. So what do you think? How does it run under Linux?

As far as I can tell, it runs better than under XP.
Seems a little smoother.
I can't seem to get the fps to work, though.
Is it 'stat fps' you type? biggrin.gif
