i'm going to have to try out the fluxbox devel version. check out the rounded corners on these transparent terminals: http://fluxbox.sourceforge.net/zoom.php?sh...pka_fluxbox.jpg

and then this one with the transparent slit and "drawer" type thing: http://fluxbox.sourceforge.net/zoom.php?sh...ka_fluxbox2.jpg

sexy, sexy b*tch...
phunni
It does look lovely...
tyme
apparently that theme isn't done yet, but man, when it is...i have a feeling it's going to be very, very nice...

anyways, according to the roadmap 0.9.5 will be releasted within the next few days. then rc1, and then the 1.0.0-but i'm going to get .4 when i get home and probably start in on some theme designing...
ezroller
yeah I'm down. I'm gonna pull it down right now.
tyme
let me know if you run into any dep issues. i had problems with a previous devel version, buy who knows, may have been fixed.

def. gonna have to find out how the rounded corners stuff works, and put in some reading of the themeing documentation.
bvc
wonder why the toolbar isn't rounded? devel not gotten that far? Seems to me if it's in the code to do it to the windowframe and menu the toolbar could as well. Looks good though. Waimea kicked flux in gear tongue.gif ...I knew it would  ...or rather, was hoping it would laugh.gif

I just wish they would include the remember functions.

Wait a minute.... The news section of the link says the remember patch has been included in fluxbox... YAHOOO... maybe, if they left it the new version.. biggrin.gif
tyme
yeah, waimea def. gave flux a kick start. and waimea seems to have died (nothing new since december).

the devel version includes the remember functionality.

I downloaded the beta and it gave me endless problems. Did some weird stuff with idesk, crashed after a few minutes of use, could not disable maximise over slit, etc etc. It really still is shaky.
tyme
well it is devel ;-) i wouldn't expect it to be stable!
iphitus
I'm getting it!!!!!
There's a cooker rpm

I guess you could play around with it, but it is completely unusable at this stage. Options are missing, others don't work and it crashes a lot.
iphitus
I used the MDK rpm, it works fine. It's sweet. Esp transparency!!
No crashes so far. But it is a little slow. Especially when doing transparent menus (prob my hardware). A few bugs, like there was no X button in the top right once when i opened RXVT. But that was a one off.

Is there a way i can install it parallel with 0.1.14?

Also is that drawer a dockapp? if so where can i get it?

Check out the Dockapp Warehouse at http://www.bensinclair.com/dockapp/

you could install one of them from source and during configure give it the --prefix=/usr/local so that it sets itself up there instead of in /usr
iphitus
urrgh that souns messy tyme!!! id also have 2 'fluxbox' in my path.

No real hurry tho. Does anyone know when the next stable version is coming out??
tyme
according to their roadmap 1.0.0 won't be out until mid-september. 0.9.5 is supposed to be out...well, today, but they've been a little behind schedule, so i'd say next week sometime.

Oh god, im inlove! thnx for the dockapp link! i was eagger for one of those!!
I've been using this devel version since i got LFS - Xfree working, and works flawlessly, except for a strange thing, its constantly throwing errors on VT1, i mean, i use it it works fine and all, but when i exit or do CTRL-ALT-F1 i see plenty of errors/warning most refering to the theme i think... james, what about yours??

Oh, i've been slack, i haven't done much work on my LFS recently, and my LFS is running 0.1.14

Besides i'm not in a hurry to work on my LFS, i'm short on hdd space and am starting a new one next january when i get my new computer. I've got school too. seriously Homework is the devil

As for the dockapps, i have a sweet one running currently. It's a launcher menu. wmdrawer. looks great (see thread "show off your desktop")
