İ have mandriva2008.1 linux distro. im last 3 years Linux user. İ want to open server. Like rfbdrake RC machine. Or FTP or Apache web server or ssh2 secure shell connections.
i have made all servers i want
i choose one server for them for server internet connection test.
i choose ssh on port 21 and ftp on port 23 and apache on port 80
i did modem forwarding or port opening for these servers. as listed.
internet outgoing ip is= 81.214.119.130 for a now. local server ip is = 192.168.1.2
and what ever i did i cant connect my mandriva server with ssh or ftp
i used nmap for port test and scan.
i can see bot modem and my mandriva pc 21 80 23 ports are open and i checked port forwarding to my local server.
but still icant connect to my server from internet. when i test servers with local ip 192.16***** they are all working.
but from 81.214.119.130 ip i cant connect to my servers.
mostly ftp says " i found server " after 3-4 seconds message gives couldnt connection enstablished

what can i do for my server up and working

and last thing my interactive firewall now doesnt give any port scan message i did make kernel upgrade and dkms nvidia driver installing.

It may be obvious, but: did you check that the wanted ports are all opened on Mandriva firewall?

yes. i did. in MCC personal firewall enstablishing section.
"select servise to open it to internet." section
but i cant access still.
any other idea ? how to open my server to internet ??

one success for me. (not about server access) i did see mandi is not running on system services and İ made it autostart and runing right now i can see scan attack etc blocked ips in İF
and trying to connect again.

208.80.194.44 this ip address catched with my İF is that from one of you?
but there is some kind a messup i had closed my apache web server.
and this time İF says this ip trying to connect http servis ?
Hmm finally after resolving mandi daemon and firewall issisue
İ can now reach my web server by using another computer. i tested it.
and now my İF is catching some tester friends. while they reaching my web server.
still same ip adress is connected to my web server.
and now im trying ssh and ftp servers to be open.
