We have installed Madriva2008 in a PC. Our problem is that we cannot connect to this pc (ping, telnet, etc.) from any pc in the same net and, at the same time, we cannot connect using telnet from this pc to any host in the net.

Madriva2008's pc configuration:
================================
- shorewall is stopped.
- route table:
Destination Gateway Genmask Flags Metric Ref Use Iface
HOST-IP * U 5 0 0 eth0
default 0.0.0.0 UG 5 0 0 eth0

What does work in mandriva2008's pc:
================================
-DNS IP is solving
-ping to other hosts in the net
-internet

What doesn't work in mandriva2008's pc:
=======================================
-telnet OTHER-HOSTS

What we cannot do with mandriva2008's pc from other pcs in the net:
===================================================================
-Ping HOST-IP doesn't work.
-Telnet HOST-IP doesn't work.

NOTE.- Our firewall doesn't detect any block of traffic from/to

We would thank you very much if you could suggest any changes to take in our recently installed Madriva2008 host.

thanks.

Sorry, I realize it was Linux Firewall. I set default action to "accept" ("drop" by default).
