Iv installed Mandriva one about 10 times now, and Iv not found how to do what I want...

I wish to install the laptop kernel, with highmem and the sony-laptop modules.

how would I go about this?

Please do not start multiple threads on the same topic. You have three threads going about this laptop problem. How much RAM does your system have?

If you want to make this easy for yourself, d/l the 3 Free Mandriva 2008.1 CDs, and install your laptop system with them. It will automatically install the laptop kernel and modules you need.
