i can't set up my Epson Stylus Pro printer on mandriva 2008..
First , i started MCC and drakprinter, installed all cups packages and epson task printing, the printer got installed ok, then i choose send test page, but all i got was garbage (----------wwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww00000000000000000)
I tried several drivers for my stylus pro, stcolor, gutenprint...
I tried installing from WWW CUPS, kdeControlCenter, Drakprinter, even Webmin, but still got garbage.
This printer works OK on Mandriva 2006 (using foomatic/stcolor driver) , and mandrake 9.1(cups+gimp-print driver), but i can't make it work on mdv2008...
any ideas?

Firstly, welcome to MUB.

When you installed the driver, did you reboot ???.

Often times that is helpful even though it may seem unnecessary.

Also you did not say what model printer you are using. Calling it an Epson printer doesn't tell anyone anything at all.
