Front page news on slashdot, there it is: Mandriva 2009 Alpha 2 released

Maybe they could have waited until beta stage to announce it so publicly, as there seem to be many quite major problems still remaining. There's also not too much listed in the release notes apart from Firefox3, OpenOffice3, and KDE4 by default. It's not out till October though, so plenty of time.
