I want to swap files between my Windows XP pc and my Mandriva Spring 2008 64 Bit pc . Both pc's have been set up for wireless in the ad-hoc mode and both say the connection is fine and working.
How do I access the files on the XP from Mandriva???

I need a step by step solution as I am a newbie. I can use a konsole and know how to go root. I have looked at the FAQ section but I can not follow the advice given there.

Can anyone help ?

Thanks.

Go to root and do: urpmi samba-client. Once installed exit root and close the konsole. You can now access your xp box using smb://<name or ip of xp box> from the address bar of konqueror or your home folder, or you can use an app like Smb4k and do it graphically.
