Ahhh Under Mandrake I have just added a directory /home/sean/shared and made, from emacs, the file "new.txt" in there and it is visible via XP. The 2nd network now shows up again and its name is Mdkgroup which 'contains' the folder "samba server3.0.2a" which in turn contains "sean_shared" which contains the file new.txt

I guess I was further on than I thought and have to figure this samba thing out now.
