Hello for all.
For first sorry for my english wink.gif
I have problem with USB instalation.
I download MCNLive Toronto, burn it to the CD,boot from this CD without USB Stick, put the USB Stick, run root console and
type fdisk -l
The USB is mounted as Sdb1 and is bootable (FAT32)
Then i run the live stick wizard and everything goes ok to the end.
Then i reboot from USB.
Everything runs ok until this meesage appears:
..................couldnt read uniofs.ko ......................
and then system stop and give me a basic (i thing called ASH) shell.
I change the boot parameters but the output is still the same.
I know that the USB is ok because before i boot from she SLAX and without problems.
Iam a begginer so anybody can help me please?

I know that you FDISK should have taken care of it, but I've always had my best luck using MCC to format and set my partitions up under the live partition.

That way I KNOW I get a good clean partition of " "

I do this by using MCNL as the "live" distro . Then I reboot login with the live cd again, and THEN start the USB update.

My exact instructions (which are written on the 3rd grade step by step ;evel) are at: http://www.thehess.org/Rollyourown1.html

along with all the files I use.

hope that helps.

Also, just as an afterthought. BEFORE I run the USB I go into MCC and make sure that ALL extra drives are UN MOUNTED

Since you are a beginner my advice is trying some other live distro, as MCNLive is effectively a dead project, and you won't get adequate support for it.

well now THAT wasnt very encouraging now was it?

actually i learned a GREAT deal in working w/ MCNL. to the point that I now use it to teach a class on the weekends.

is it THE latest? no, but then again, you dont always have to HAVE the latest, you'd be AMAZED at how many kids and adults are just THRILLED at being able to use something on their 4 - 5 year old PC that doesnt cut the vista upgrade!

just my 2 cts
