Depends. Is there anything in the release notes ( http://wiki.mandriva.com/en/2008.1_Tour ) that you especially want/need?

Or do you need to do some revision? wink.gif

You could upgrade either using CD/DVD media, or repos direct from the internet and it should be OK. Of course, it would be a good idea after this, to use etc-update to update your config files so that they are using the new ones available with 2008.1 Spring.

If you have anything on the system that you may need for your exams I wouldn't upgrade until after...don't want to accidentally b0rk something and end up losing necessary data...

Though the upgrade process itself is quite short and simple, I recommend not to upgrade in mission-critical times.

Good luck with the exams (It's due to the strike in the first semester, I guess).

i think i will take your advice and wait until the end of my exams (yes it is because of the strike)
and i will reinstall the spring edition on a blank computer instead of upgrading smile.gif

thank you all,
