Hello,

I have a Compaq Presario M2002AL laptop with 768 MB RAM/1.4GHz Celeron. I did a fresh install of 2008.1 Spring-Free and runnnig KDE 3.5.9 on the laptop kernel. My system freezes whenever I click 'Display' in the KDE Control Center -> Periferals menu. I must turn off power of the system by holding the power button for 5 seconds. The system is totally frozen, no reboot / console etc.

TIA for your help.

as jkerr says, that's the exact bug. I'm trying to get it looked at urgently.

What do you need the KDE display tool for? There's probably another way to do whatever it is you want, fortunately.
