I have NVidia drivers installed on M/D 9.1 and see the NVidia logo when i boot up but i can't play Tuxracer at all? I thought it would work with the 3D drivers installed?

It should. maybe try reinstalling tuxracer? Don't know what else. Are you using current drivers or the default ones that came with 9.1? you might try updateing.

try typing
glxinfo
at a virtual terminal window, check to see if it says direct rendering. eg..

ok so it looks like you opengl is allright.
Do you have any other opengl games that run on your system? quake3, ut etc..

can you try starting tuxracer from the terminal window

Also just to make sure run glxgears from a terminal window and see if you get the cogs, and note what fps they are running at.

ok your opengl is ok and you can start tuxracer, but you still cant start tuxracer from the start menu?

well since i used those commands and also rebooted Tuxracer now starts from the menu? Don't ask me why its doing it now but hey thanks for all the help it was appreciated very much.

no problem, and if you have an athlon-xp cpu there are some game rpms in the downloads section of this site that you may like.

egoboo - a cute little 3d dungeon crawl.
tuxcart - tux on a cart racing
flightgear - a realistic flight sim

only get these if you have a athlon-xp cpu otherwise they wont work on your computer.
If you have another cpu type you can still get these games.

Will these games work with a Duron 1GHz proccessor?

Yeah. I'd just get the i586 RPMs. You won't notice any difference, and they will run on a Duron.

From 1GHz on Durons are the same as Athlons, just with less cache. The slower durons are like the old athlons (T-birds, not tbreds), they lack the intel SSE SIMD instructions, there you need the i586 code, but I agree with DOlson, if you take the i586 it works anyway...
