BioWare has released the Linux NWN Beta 5.
The new beta fixes some minor issues. I haven't tried it yet, so someone else can be the guinea pig.

Mandrake 9.1 comes standard with 1.2.5
NWN runs fine for me on 9.1

Cool. Time for me to download and see what's been changed. (backuping my nwn.ini and nwnplayer.ini first of course).

Beta 5 works great for me. It seems a litle bit smoother for me.

People using DRI drivers have had a lot of problems with Beta 5. Only nVidia owners should consider switching at this point, I feel (and maybe ATI Radeon owners). I have downloaded but not switched. I will likely backup the directory and THEN switch to Beta 5, after I've thoroughly read all the problems people have been having.
Do you need a CD to run NWN Beta? Is it a download install?

To run NWN you need a copy of the software and a Windoze install to transfer the files over. Alternatively, you can use Ravage's installer and the beta files to patch it to the current beta. But without a CD-key, found in the inside cover of the manual, you cannot play the game.
