smile.gif Just need some enlightenment on what are the options or programs to have a desktop clock as i've never looked into it?

If you are using, Gnome, you should take a look at gDesklets (also available in the repos, I recommend to install it from there):

For KDE there is SuperKaramba doing the same thing (also in the repos):
http://netdragon.sourceforge.net/ssuperkaramba.html

Another option is asking your wife what's the time every 5 minutes.

yes , i run gnome and are just looking at your gdesklets link

btw anyone know if gdesklets can be auto started at boot?

Go to System -> Preferences -> Advanced -> Sessions
On the Startup Programs tab click the Add button
Under name and command type "gdesklets"
Voila!

There are also screenlets and if you like the Opera web browser it has widgets too.
