There is sda1 on my desktop and i ask you how to unmount that
I have read howto do it a long time ago but after searching these forums a long time can't find it
as i remember it is something do with opening up nautilus through the terminal and un-ticking a box

Normally, you can right click to unmount a drive. I have my /dev/sda2 mounted on the desktop, and I can right click and unmount it.
If you just want to remove the icon from the desktop but leave it mounted, then run gconf-editor, and in here apps/nautlius/desktop to remove the icon.

OK, cool! Thanks Ian; I've been meaning to ask how to get rid of those annoying mounted USB-drives icons from my desktop in Gnome - and there it is!
