hey all,
i have just installed Mandriva 2008 RC2, but unfortunatly with alot of problems. i installed it over FC5, and the internet connection is not working, eth0 neither by wirless. the other issue is my usb mouse is not working either.
does anyone know how to start fixing them?

well, we're going to need more information. what system is this? what type of network card? wireless card? mouse?

ok the laptop is a HP dv1000, with 3 partitions: c: winXP, d: ntfs data and f: FC5 (previously) but now installed Mandriva 2008 RC2. 100GB HD, and 1G RAM
eth0 - Realtek Semiconductor (RTL -8139 )
eth1 (wirless) - ipw2200
intel GMA 9xx graphics
as for the mouse its a small usb mouse for laptop (no brand)

when i try to set up a new network interface i get this error:
unable to find network interface for selected device (using 8139too driver)
Realtek Semiconductor Co LTD ....
and at this point im not trying to set up my wireless, im trying to set up the eth cable

Blacklist either the "8139too" or the "8139cp" module - whichever doesn't work for you. Only one of them should be loaded at a time.
If needed, add to your modprobe.conf file a line like
CODE
alias eth0 8139too

or
CODE
alias eth0 8139cp

accordingly.
