If you're using Mandriva 2007, there's no /etc/modules.config file. Do you mean /etc/modprobe.preload?

What version are you using?

I'm on 2007.1 and I have one. It only has an alias in it, and I didn't put it there! huh.gif

Unless you are using a 2.4.* kernel or older, /etc/modules.conf is not used by the system in Mandriva (or any other distro that I know of). I have the file on my system (2007.1) but it just has a bunch of worthless tty aliases. Don't ask me why it is included in this distro.
