Got a 2007 Spring Free system here and would like to try Firestarter. I somehow understood that it was "made for" Gnome.. It even says so in Software Managements description for Firestarter. "A GUI Firewall tool for Gnome 2". Anyway, when I try to install it via urpmi or the Manager it says they want to install some KDE-related files. Why's so?

Firestarter designed for the GNOME desktop, but works in KDE too. If works in KDE must be develop some QT library packages. While install, firestarter is ready to work in KDE too ....Lex

what KDE related files is it trying to install? Are you sure they are for KDE?

As far as Firestarter needing KDE libraries to run in KDE, this isn't true. Firestarter is purely GTK2, can run under KDE as GTK2, and wouldn't need QT libraries to run under KDE (just like any other GTK2 apps...Gaim/Pidgin and the like).

I believe they are strictly kernel related packages, not KDE... can you list them?
