i have a linux box(mandrake 10.1 )that acts as a router to our netwok..ive configured firestarter with it to act as a firewall because of its nice feature and ease of configuration but i am planning to setup squid as transparent proxy caching server also on this same machine.can anyone pls help me what firestarter policy rules to add in order to do that?
many thanks,

I don't believe you can use firestarter with squid transparent proxy, because it needs advanced iptables rules.

Here's a how-to I found with a quick search: cyberciti.biz

Please note that I've never used it, so I can't answer any questions about that how-to.
