I am new to Linux so forgive this simple question. I D/L Wolf ET. It came in a zip file which I extracted. How do I now instal the file it gives me?

SoulSe
Easiest would probably be from a terminal. cd into the right directory and then:
CODE
$ sh et-linux-2.6.0.x86.run
ixoye777
I gave that a go and get the following error:

I tried it as root as well. Any ideas?

EDIT:
NM, figured it out, I just copy/pasted what you wrote and ther was an extra period in it. Thanks for the help.
SoulSe
I can't remember how ET installs, but it might be better to run the installer script as user, otherwise you might not be able to run the game as such.

Solved?

In a console, tab auto-complete is your friend! smile.gif

Yes it is all solved. At first it would not let me instal it as user, gave me an error saying it did not have write permissions to the dir it wanted to instal to. I switched to root and then it installed fine.
SoulSe
It probably needs a root install then. Enjoy the game smile.gif

I did do some searching on the Wolf:ET pages but found no answer to this question.

With your help I was able to install Wolfenstien: Enemy territory just fine but I can not figure out how to install the update.

Here are the update files is gives me:

I looked in my Wolf:Et directory but there were no applicable files to replace.
I read the info.text that came with them but there was no help in there either.

So, is there someting I do with these files in the Konsole? Any help would be appreciated.
