Hi, Having the free 2007 distribution is there any major differences in features access rights etc between this version and the buy version? Best regards Bill

The versions that may be purchased have some software on them that is not on the free versions. However, all of the software is readily available on the internet after configuring your urpmi sources.

You can see the differences between the pay-for versions here, and as far as how the free version differs: you don't get any of the "services" offered with the pay-for version some software is not included on the CD's you download, but is easily available after the install, as Ix said.
