i am completely new to linux, so please bare with me.

when i boot, at the loading screen right after it loads the kernal. i get this message.



it happens on both computers.
laptop (packard bell m5)
desktop (custom built, amd a64 x2)
both running windows XP on ntfs drives.

damn. i just read somewhere that burning the cd slowly fixes a lot of problems. and guess what, it fixed my problems. sorry for wasting bandwidth.
