Full Version: Pending reboot in Windows [solved]

Hi,

I am attempting to install SAS in on the Windows partition of my Windows/Mandriva machine. The program indicates there are pending software installations which must be completed by rebooting the computer before the SAS installation can begin. I have restarted my machine many many times and always receive the same error message. I believe that the GRUB bootloader is interfering with the Windows reboot and as such the Windows does not complete the installation, thus causing the error message to reappear.

Can anyone tell me if this issue has come up before and if there is a solution to it.

Thanks.

Grub doesnt interfere at any level that would prevent windows from acknowledging a reboot. Windows does not know it even exists.

Try cleaning out temp files in your windows install, and the temporary installation files.

I agree with iph. But if you think it would help, you can always repair the Windows MBR and then place grub back again later. The problem is in your windows registry, though, and not grub. cool.gif

You guys were right, it was a Windows problem and not a Mandriva problem. My apologies for blaming Mandriva first... it wont happen again.
