I believe this is a sound problem. Anyone else had this issue?

try cutting off the sound completely in the options, and see if it helps.

Please post your system specs. When it locks up does the sound loop? We need more information.

A Black and Gray 17" Sager Laptop, P4 2.8GhzHT 800Mhz bus, 1GB DDR400 Ram, Mandriva LE 2005, ATI Radeon Mobility 9600PRO 128MB AGP, 80GB HD, DVD/CDRW combo, it has a Synaptics touchpad and three "quick-lauch" buttons, Senoa PCMCIA 802.11b High Power (250mW) Wireless Adapter, 1280x1024 resolution using KDE, ART Optical USB Laptop Mouse, also connecting wirelessly through a Linksys wireless router to a WinXPPro machine's USB external drive with SAMBA to access my music files. The sound does "LOOP" for a second then all locks up. If you need more info or a more detailed list of specifications, just let me know.
