Hi all
I have just recently installed Mandrake 10.0 official. Enjoying it very much so far.
My problem is with KPPP. I have set up a dialup connection to my ISP, no problem. However, I live in a household of 4 that shares my machine and ISP connection, so it is often the case that I have to log off so another use can login and browse the Web. Whenever I logout under KDE using KPPP, it drops the connection, meaning the next user has to reconnect, costing me an extra phonecall.
How can I set the connection to stay alive through the logout/login routine? (I have fiddled with Redhat 9.0 before and it works okay using the neat-control network manager, but I prefer the simplicity of the KPPP interface for the sake of my family who are even newer than this newbie!)
Thanks for your help.

I don't know about staying alive through the login-logout routine, but what if you logged everyone in at the same time? What I mean is for the first user:
startx
Second:
startx -- :1
third:
startx -- :2
fourth
startx -- :3
Then User1 is on VT7 (Ctrl-Alt-F7), User2 VT8 (Ctl-Alt-F8), etc. Then, when you are done, you could just Lock your desktop if you're about security and they can Ctrl-Alt-whatever to their desktop.

kppp and wvdial can be run from a startup script called from another, like /etc/rc.d/rc.local, but this would have to be done as root.

Or do the startx -- :1 thingy as above or 'start new session' from the start menu, then lock the screen (in start menu) for yourself?
New session will be at <ctrl, alt, F8>, and any user can log in
