I suppressed KDE from the MCC and after reboot
I get a window "Mandrake Linux with a list of names as follows :
adm
bin
daemon
games
halt
jean (that is my name)
lp
mail
news
nobody
operator
root
rpc
rpm
shutdown and a few more
what can I do with it
I type my name but the password was not agreed upon so what should I do to connect to my window maker and install the internet connection ?

I am on Mandrake 9.1 on a laptop Compaq Armada 100S

You may have eleminated one too many packages! I think that the Drake tools are intertwined with some kde/gnome libs.
