Full Version: Cannot start program from menu (KDE)

I'm having a bit of trouble with xMule. As the title says, I can start it if I type 'xmule' at the console, but clicking on the menu item makes the xmule item appear on the kicker, but nothing else appears and after a bit this item disappears. I don't understand what's going on. The weird thing is that it was working fine just the other day, and i don't know what i've changed.

Anyone got any suggestions?

Have you rebooted? Ran updates? The Mandrake Control Center has had some issues that manifest when you use it! So, if you ran it, there could be a problem. Try running menudrake and saving the settings for your menu. These are just guesses.

As Ixthusdan says - run menudrake. Make sure the command entry corresponds to where the xmule binary is installed - you can find this by typing "which xmule" at the command line. Will be something like /usr/bin/xmule .

Assuming you are logged in as a user, not root in the console.

The kicker is a bit of a red herring - this appears whenever you click on an entry in the menu, and stays for a pre-set time - adjustable in the control panel.
