Hi everyone,

I have 10OE installed on my Sony Vaio pcg-fx300p notebook. I'm running the 2.6 kernel. My usb mouse does not work unless I enable apic. However, with apic enabled, all attempts to login using kdm, gdm, etc die a horrible death with this message in .xsession-errors.

/etc/X11/xinit/fixkeyboard: Permission Denied
/etc/X11/xinit/XIM: Permission Denied

I haven't tried using the 2.4 kernel yet, and I don't really want to if I can avoid it.

I have some updated information. I reinstalled mandrake 10 official. Using the default kernel, the usb mouse does not work. I can log in to kde now, but the keyboard quits working after kde is loaded.

acpi in the default 2.6 kernel for ML-10-OE has bugs. Update the kernel and make sure the bootloader says acpi=on, not acpi=ht. You can switch back to ht if need be.
