This is NOT a question on how to get nvidia 3-D working - mine is working fine...

I'm just curious - I already had an 8.1 install from a year ago, and I had to go thru the "fix your nvidia driver" thingy - you know - change "nv" to "nvidia" blah blah.

Now a year later, after I installed 9.0, my nvidia 3-D still works...

I'm just curious, for my own information, is it still working cuz I had previously fixed it it my 8.1 install? Or does 9.0 nvidia 3-D just work "out of the box"? I installed 9.0 over 8.1 as the "update" install option. In other words, did the "fix" carry over from 8.1 to my 9.0 install?

The fix carried over. Mandrake 9 loads the same old nvidia drivers as before unless it finds updated drivers then it uses them.

I just installed the nvidia drivers for 9. It was a piece of cake. Two rpm's and a few minor fixes to my /etc/XF86Config-4 file.
