If you would like to squeeeeeze just a few more fps out of your NVIDIA agp video card, you should check out a program called YANC. It's on the plf mirrors.
It gives you access to some common XF86Config options and also some well hidden nvidia kernel module options. It's very straight forward. I child could probably get more fps out of an nvidia card with it. check it out.

TRy "nvidia-controls" instead - yanc doesn't work except with xfree86 surely?

I assumeYANC make modifications to the XF86Config-4 file? What are the specific XF86Config options it adds? Are the well hidden nvidia kernel module options you refer to also additions to the F86Config-4 file?

fearby: X.Org's configuration file is perfectly compatible with XFree's, so it ought to work. MDK sets XFConfig-4 (erp, or whatever it's called, I forgot already) to be a symlink to xorg.conf , so even if it tries to modify the wrong config file, it should be OK.

Nope, yanc is not working for me neither
And how would one change "nvidia - controls" ?
