i usually can get wine to install a program, but it has never run one. need help configuring wine. i have been trying to get wine to work for over 2 years. havent figured it out yet.

Knowing what you're trying to do and why have you ever thought about purchasing win4lin? You can download a trial version before you buy it. Maybe that's an easier answer for you.

i may have to. i'd prefer not to shell out the dough. i'd like to get wine working. i guess i'm kinda funny that way, i like to have things work.

Ok, sounds like your registry is not up to snuff, so go here and get the latest version Wine Tools and have it make you a new registry.
