i just installed the cvs version of winex last night, i trun the pc on this mornin, and i quake 3 doesnt have any sound, sound works great in xwindows, im able to play mp3's and the kde3 sound works fine @ startup, i hvae a p3 500mhz voodoo5 with AC97 sound card onboard... can some1 please help me?

Are you running Quake3 with winex?
Cuz (you may know this) you don't need to.
If you use winex for other stuff, can I suggest that you use wine instead?
I never has much luck with winex at all, but wine works fine for me, if you have Mandrake 9, it's on the CDs and supports openGL.
From what you describe, it sounds like winex caused your problem.
