Guest dtharby
Hi, I am a newbie to the Linux arena and thought that i would try out as I got this on a cover dvd. Mandrake has installed, I said No to auto booting the KDE. I selected as much as possible to install. When I run the VMWare Tools installation, it asks for the location of the kernel C header files. Looking under /usr/src I have no Include or Linux directories. Only RPM. Can someone tell me what I have done wrong and what I need to do to get this working ! Thanks Danny [moved from Installing Mandrake by spinynorman]
devries
You need to install the kernel-source: Type as root in a console: urpmi kernel-source Good luck

Guest majqa
I posted some instructions here on what I did to get Mandrake to work in vmware: http://speakforcefully.blogspot.com/2004/1...nto-vmware.html Hope it helps. I had the same problem. Revised 12-07-04 I made a mistake in my instructions as a few things changed from Mandrake 10.1 CE and 10.1 Official. The new instructions hopefully work for 10.1 Official.
