Pidgin and Yahoo! They have changed it again

The server is now 'cn.scs.msg.yahoo.com' for now anyways. :angry:
To whom should I go for self help?

Thanks, I noticed this had failed again today. I think I'm going to hold out for the time being until it stabilises :)

Thanks for this SS. I believe that the Windows binary is already updated for this, hopefully the fix will filter through to distros soon.

There is a new pidgin version that's fixed. You have to download it from pidgin though.

Thank you Jeanette & welcome to the board. I made the effort and compiled from sources and it works. Hopefully for longer than the other fixes.
Be warned anybody who wishes to compile you will need a few deps installing, but it's worth it.

I had a few issues with pidgin 2.5.7 and Yahoo- although it does connect (vanilla pidgin, not carrier or whatever hack of it).
Kopete from kde 4.3 svn does not connect-yet.
