Darkelve
guess non-members didn't have to wait all _that_ long, eh? No, it almost seems like Mandrake has read my/our mind(s) :P :P It's not on the mirrors yet (Dutch and Belgian) though. Not last time I looked. Goooo Mandy! scoopy
HAPPINESS IS: (remember those?) Surfing around various FTP sites looking to find a package to satisfy some stupid dependency issue and finding fresh ISO's being posted before the whole world knows about it. Now I don't even have to worry about that kernel upgrade I was trying to accomplish. :D
iphitus
This is not the official final 10.0 I think it should be named something that makes it more obvious that it's a RC and its potentially unstable. Copied from mandrakesoft.com Mandrakelinux 10.0 is the newest version of the popular operating system. The Community branch is designed for those who need the very latest features at the soonest opportunity, regardless of potential glitches. Those who prefer an even more tested version should wait for the 'Official' release, scheduled to be published in early May 2004. aRTee
Iphitus, it is the final just as any previous final was a final. The Official is the added step, not the CE.
scoopy
... BUT, wasn't there always an RC2 release before the "final'. Wouldn't this community release fit in to that same time frame of the development?
tyme
Dang nab it people, the community release is what is usually the Final, sometimes they skip and RC2 if they don't feel it's necessary. the community edition is not some rc2...it's their normal final, the official is and ADDITION to their normal release cycle. zero0w
Bittorrent is about 50KB/s, I hope it will get faster later.
aRTee
Well, I started the bittorrent again last night (have had it running most of the time this past week) so that may have something to do with things... :P (not really, upload is about 10KB/s -- but better than nothing) Did you guys read my review? Give it a go and let me know what you think in this topic: http://www.mandrakeusers.org/index.php?showtopic=12184
zero0w
Yeah, it's a nice review. I didn't know you can tweak those settings like that. Also, the new Mixer is very impressive. btw, over time (4 hours later :P ), the download speed increased to about 150kb+; now there are only 2 hours left.
