spinynorman
Having been puzzled by the results I've been getting with Google/Linux, I've done a bit of digging and found that Google has discontinued a number of specialised search facilities - but didn't bother to announce it. If you use www.google.com/linux, you are redirected to www.google.com/webhp. To get Linux results, you have to include the word in the search terms. Thanks to the unofficial GoogleSystem blog for the information.
xboxboy
At first I was thinking "What a pack of clowns, shutting that down." But the I remember google is a business, which is working on Android plus other OS's, so why make it easier for your competitors? I guess I'll have to use the forum more :)
ianw1974
I never used those options anyway, I simply did what they suggested naturally and probably most people did that as well, so I can understand why they dropped them.

I used to use them but now typing linux (or my distro) first then my keywords deliver the same value that I need. ciao!
Reiver_Fluffi
Thread title is ambiguous, borderline sensationalist. I never used those options anyway, I simply did what they suggested naturally and probably most people did that as well, so I can understand why they dropped them. Ditto that.
